Verify a document

Upload a document someone gave you. This page tells you whether it is one Fairmount sealed and whether a single byte has changed since. No account, no order number, and nothing to ask Fairmount for.

The file is read to compute its fingerprint and is not stored, logged, or kept. Nothing about it is recorded.

How this works

When Fairmount seals a document, it records a fingerprint of the exact file — a value derived from every byte in it. This page recomputes that fingerprint from the file you upload and looks for it in the record.

Change anything at all — a digit, a date, a signature image — and the fingerprint that comes out is completely different. There is no way to alter a document and keep its fingerprint, which is what makes a match meaningful rather than reassuring.

A match tells you the file is unaltered since sealing. It does not tell you the contents are true — that is what the notarial act itself attests to, and it is a different claim.
